ACRA Change of Address: Prepare the Right Singapore Company Update

Identify the exact ACRA record that changed

Before changing an address in ACRA records, identify exactly which record changed: the company's registered office or office hours, an officer's address, or another entity detail. ACRA currently directs companies to update relevant entity information through Bizfile and states that company-information and position-holder changes generally must be reported within 14 days. Verify the current rule, filer authority, supporting facts, and successful acknowledgement for the actual entity.

Prepare one row per record and downstream system. A successful Bizfile change is not evidence that a bank, licence, contract, website, tax, or mail record changed with it.

Use the effective date to drive a responsibility list. File the relevant current ACRA update through an authorized route, preserve the acknowledgement, then verify the live record. Treat contracts, banking, licences, tax, websites, and mail as separate follow-up rows with their own owners and completion evidence.

A company moving its registered office records the effective date, new Singapore address and public office hours, checks where statutory records will be kept, separates director residential-address questions, identifies the authorized filer, and lists contracts, bank, tax, licence, website, and mail changes as separate follow-up rather than assuming the Bizfile update changes them.

Verify current deadline, authority, and route

Classify the change before collecting documents. A registered office update is not automatically an officer residential-address update, a business operating-location update, or a correspondence change with banks, tax authorities, landlords, licensors, customers, and vendors. Record the current ACRA entity information and exact old and new facts instead of relying on a verbal description such as we moved.

Before acting, distinguish the registered office, office hours, officer addresses, correspondence details, and other entity records. Check the current ACRA instruction and deadline for the actual record. A single office move can also affect where statutory records are kept and how mail, licences, banks, contracts, tax records, and public notices are handled, but those changes have separate authorities.

Separate personal and company records

Use the current ACRA page to verify the filing route and deadline for the relevant record. Prepare the effective date, public office hours where applicable, authority or resolution evidence, filer identity, supporting address evidence, and any endorsement questions. Keep personal data limited to the authorized filing workflow and route uncertainties to the corporate secretary, CSP, or legal adviser.

Confirm acknowledgement and downstream updates

After filing, preserve the acknowledgement and check the updated record. Track downstream updates separately with their own owner and evidence; do not mark the whole move complete because one Bizfile transaction succeeded.
